Matthew Ragsdale '19 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Matthew Ragsdale and I am from Colorado Springs, Colorado.  I became interested in the game of basketball when I was a 5 year old playing for a YMCA team.  Since then, basketball has become a passion of mine.  Throughout the last 10 years of playing basketball, I have learned many things about myself and what's required to be successful.  Playing with passion and giving a 100% effort has allowed me to experience the joys of what this sport has to offer, both from a team perspective and also from an individual development standpoint.

I've learned that nothing is given to you, it has to be earned.  For me, school is an example of this.  School is the number one focus in my life as I strive to achieve a 4.0 GPA.  Beyond high school, I am excited about continuing my education and earning a degree in college.

A couple of important skills I have as a student athlete is, I'm a leader that tries to make my teammates around me better.  Another skill I show well, is that I am extremely competitive.  I try to channel my competitive spirit into making myself the best student and basketball player that I can be.

I believe that I am skilled enough and I have the work ethic to play at the college level.  With that said, I'm ready to do whatever it takes to play at the next level.
