Lava & Greetings 

My name is Denim Tuala-Fata.  I am proud of my Samoan and Maori (Indigenous New Zealander) heritage  I'm a power forward/Stretch 4 who also could play out on the perimeter.  I am currently living in the USA in Marin County currently attending the College of Marin as a Freshman.  As a student-athlete, the characteristics I am known for are my work ethic, physical strength, competitiveness and a never-give-up attitude. My speciality is defence. I work hard on and off the court.  I have high expectations of myself and I am willing to push through barriers to reach my goals.   I work hard to meet academic goals and I want to achieve the highest standard.  I will always be the hardest worker in the room.

My strengths lie within my ability to score both inside the post, mid-range and beyond the arc.  I am a tenacious defender and with my long wingspan, I can both steal the ball, block shots and taking the charge is one if my favourites.  I am a team player who expects 100% effort from myself and my teammates. I have a never-say-die attitude and will work, work, work - often described as a workhorse with an unbeatable work ethic.  I have been called the ultimate teammate because I will do anything it takes to help my team.  I am unselfish and love to go into battle with my team. I am loyal and trustworthy.

Above all else Basketball is my first love and something I want to make my career. It is where I feel 'I belong' and is my passion. I am enjoying playing at the collegiate level but strive to move higher in divisions with the ultimate goal of reaching a Div 1 team and performing at a high level. I have the desire to return to New Zealand to help all the people who have not had the opportunities that I have been afforded to find their pathway to their basketball dreams opening up a training facility for high-performance athletes. I am pursuing a Communications 4 year degree having just completed my first successful semester and being honoured to be put on the Deans List.

I will be an asset to your roster and my work ethic will prove to be valuable to any team roster.
