I am a basketball point guard who believes character is important both on and off the court. This commitment is best reflected in some of the awards I have received. First, the Crusader Award for my character and athletic commitment both on and off the court as a player on my Bishop Kenny High School basketball team. Second, the Hatter Award which I received at the Stetson basketball camp I attended in 2012 which is for the player who showed the most character, leadership, and drive both on and off the court at the camp.
This character has helped to fuel my passion for basketball. When entering high school, I had to make the decision on my two best sports - basketball and soccer. At the time, I was a top-ranked goalie in the State of Florida competing on the highest level with my soccer team. However, the soccer and basketball seasons overlap at my high school; so I made the commitment to my first love, basketball.
My love of basketball comes from many areas such as having a high basketball IQ. I am a team player, who has been called the John Stockton of today as I know my job as point guard is to see the whole court and feed the ball to the player with the best chance to score. I have also been called a Velociraptor (which means "swift seizer") for my defensive play and my ability to both steal the ball and get rebounds.
While playing basketball both for my high school and AAU along with training with both a personal coach and an athletic conditioning coach, I am also a Scholar Athlete, an officer of FCCLA, a member of FCA, an employee at Chick fil A, and enjoy spending time with and taking care of my younger sister and cousins.
