Hello My name is Matthew. I am a 6'11 Center at 165 lb. I currently live at Kissimmee, Florida with my parents and my grandmother. In August 2023 I will begin my Freshman year at Poinciana High School. My GPA right now is at a 3.66. I finished Middle School with A's and B's.
I began playing Basketball at the age of 12 which is 3 years ago. I had no knowledge of Basketball since I played a different sport at that time maybe around 6 but once I started, I always gave my best effort at everything and I am very coachable. I am always taught to say I can do it instead of saying negative things in my head (ex. I can't do this workout or I am going to fail at this test.) Because I learned that you had to try to do something before you say that you can't do it. So hear one of your players say I can't do it give them a consequence and they will push through the workout and give it their best.
Ever since 7th grade or last year I have been thinking of going to colleges that have a good sports system but also good classes is very key for me as if I don't end up making it to my goal which is the NBA I would be able to get a job. When I reach College I'll push myself even harder than how much I am doing right now. Like everyone else their goal is to go D1. I want to go D1. I am a good candidate for a college team because you won't see centers maybe going into college 1st year at my height but by the time I get to college I will be over 7 feet. I can do many things around the court, especially making space for other players to score the ball. My key part of my play is defense. My offense will get there by the time I do reach college.
Other recruits could have good grades and be good at the sport they play but its all about the character they show on and off the court. Off the court you won't see me socialize too much since I am mostly a listener. On the court, it is way different as you have to talk on defense. Some recruits have okay grades but are really good at sports and are really athletic but like I said its just there character and their hidden character that they keep off the court that is important to notice.
Thank you for looking at my Profile. Hope you have a great day!
