Ken Jerry Synvrit '17 Recruiting Profile

I’ve been playing basketball since I was 13 years old. My interest was sparked after watching professional players in the NBA. Being the tallest among my peers, basketball was a sport I was able to succeed in. This interest developed into a strong passion. Basketball has helped me develop leadership skills, and learn how to be a team player. I am a second generation Haitian American who was raised by a single mom.  Although I grew up with humble means, my Mom always found a way to provide for me and my brothers and give us a loving home.  Basketball has motivated me to succeed in school and hopefully help me obtain a scholarship in order to afford college and become the first in my family to obtain a Bachelor's Degree. 

I am a Senior at Schoolhouse Preparatory in Miami, Florida and will graduate this June 2017.  I am the Captain and starting Power Forward for the Wolfpack Boys Varsity Basketball Team. My Cumulative GPA is a 3.76 GPA and I have a clean disciplinary record. I plan to major in Business and Finance.  Maintaining a high GPA is very important to me because I know that a successful future begins with a solid educational foundation.

What makes me an excellent candidate for your team and distinguishes me from other recruits? I am coachable and do whatever my team and coaches need me to do. I'm an all-around player and can play both offense and defense. I’m a person of faith, self-disciplined and respectful. I am not afraid of training hard. I am loyal, demonstrate good sportsmanship, and a leader on and off the court. I am dedicated to my education and passionate about basketball. I have what it takes and I will give my coaches, team and university everything I've got!
