I have been playing basketball nonstop for four years now and ever since I stepped onto the court, college basketball has been my dream. I am a shooting guard but I also often run point. I am a very strong shooter with good handles and a high basketball IQ. I am also very athletic and able to drive the ball inside and get boards. I strive to be the hardest working and best player on the court at all times. I started with AAU basketball and worked tirelessly, all the way to making my JV High School Basketball team freshman year where I was a starter for the entire season. In my first high school game I scored 23 points and never looked back, winning the offensive MVP in my freshman year. In my 10th grade year I was moved to Varsity at my high school and I played very valuable minutes giving us lots of offense and defense. This summer I played on the 19U AAU team Under Pressure and we came in 5th in the US Amateur nationals. In the following year I became the Varsity starting shooting guard for the whole season averaging 17 and accumulated 3 all tournament teams, made the all county team, broke 2 school scoring records, and was named team MVP.
Outside of my team training, I also do personal training with Beast Athletics to become a better, stronger, faster, and more agile basketball player. Lately I have working on my jumping ability to dunk and I did accomplish this feat in March after months of rigorous training. More recently i have been working out on my own at LA fitnes to build more muscle.
I strive to be at the top of my game both on and off the court and work hard to maintain a 4.0 GPA and plan to graduate at the top my class. My high grades earned me admission into the rigorous medical magnet program at PHUHS where I am preparing for a career in the medical field. I am also a member of HOSA (Health Occupational Students of America) which is a club at my high school exclusively for med students. Recently I was admitted to the National Honor Society as well. In addition to basketball I have been playing drums for the last five years. This past school year I lettered in academics, music, and basketball.
I hope to attend a college with strong basketball and academic programs. I am open to exploring all options as I am looking to find a college that will help me to attain my dreams and goals. And I am willing to put in the work that is needed to accomplish those goals. I am always respectful of my coaches, teammates, and officials. I am extremely coachable and practice good sportsmanship but I am also a tough competitor. I hope to make my parents proud and become a role model for generations to come.
