Kaleb Saunders '18 Recruiting Profile

Since the age of five,  I've had a strong passion to play basketball.  My parents and others noticed my gift and immediately exposed me to youth and summer league basketball.  I led my youth teams to win several final championship games, even making some buzzer beater or clutch plays as seen on  YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOzVI031ZgA).  I continued to exercise my talents throughout middle and currently high school at the guard position as a floor general'.  Furthermore, I've been able to develop a tight handle of the basketball and set my teammates up for great opportunities to score.  During the off season,  I continue to sharpen my skills through competitive travel basketball (local and out-of-state tournaments), strength/body conditioning, and showcases and camps which has resulted in game accolades.  As an athlete, I thoroughly understand that character, presentation (on and off the court) and a high basketball IQ are crucial to individual and overall team success.  In addition, I want coaches to know that I strongly believe a balance of skills, good work ethics, and the ability to maintain academic excellence is what distinguishes me from the majority of other recruits.  Most importantly, I believe that my relationship with Jesus Christ will open doors, that no man can close. I will do my best to not to take that opportunity for granted.  My personal Wilson Evolution basketball reminds me daily when I touch it,"I do not have a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind' (2 Timothy 1:7).
