Coaches can describe me as the type of player who might just play two minutes in the game and won't complain, or play all thirty two and leave everything between the hardwood lines. Without being conceited, I would agree. Basketball to me is not just a game or a hobby. Basketball is life. Without this sport I wouldn't have a purpose to participate in anything at school; it is my passion. Whenever I'am on the court I see no opponent, no crowd. All I envision while on the court is myself, the hoop and the ball. It's just like late nights when I practice at the local community center. I've been playing basketball for about seven years. However, I didn't have a desire to play seriously until my eighth grade year. Since,I have dedicated numerous months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds to basketball. I'm the type of player who is the first to arrive and last to leave. My parents taught me from a young age to strive for what I want in life and let nothing STOP me along the way. I take this philosophy everywhere I go and in every aspect of my life. Scholastically, I have no problem with my academics. Some of my accomplishments and academic history include
As you can see, academics has never been an issue for me. Basketball wise, I have played for various coaches on different levels. (school, travel, aau/usssa,etc.) Any coach I've played for will tell you that I'm a hard worker, leader, and coachable. My statistics are listed in the stats section. The more experience I have playing the better I'am as a player. I've taken different criticisms from coaches and use them to further my game. Coming from a well structured family, I understand morals, ethics, and how to be a better individual in society. I eschew from people, materials, etc that will not have a positive impact on my life. Although I'am a social individual, I know what is necessary to obtain my goals and getting to the next level. Even though this economic crisis has taken a toll on my family, this hasn't created a rift in our family foundation. Subsequently, it made us stronger. My family is very important to me and they would be a huge factor in deciding what college I would attend. Post high school, I plan on attending a university or college in the fall of 2013. This would change if necessary. Even if I don't play collegiate basketball, I want to make sure that my parents don't have to write a check. However, playing on a collegiate level is my an aspiration I'm determined to reach. I promised my parents, if they let me play basketball, I would award them by paying for college through my God giving talents. Bottom line is that I'm a kid who just wants to reach the next level by any means. Through my tenacious and ambitious attitude I know i can get there. People say the sky is the limit I plan on reaching the moon.
