My name is Franklin Pena. I became interested in basketball at the age of seven as I began to watch the games on television. I started to play the sport and liked it even more, throughout the years basketball has become my biggest priority aside from school. One thing I have learned about myself through playing basketball is that the harder I work at it, the better I get. I have a 6'9 wingspan and a standing reach of 8'2 which gives me advantage to play great defense and be a very good rebounder. To me it is also important to be a good teammate and to carry myself well on and off the court. Growing up, my parents always told me to be respectful, act responsibly and give 100 percent to anything I do in life. Currently I am a junior in high school and my GPA is 3.8, my goal is to graduate with the highest possible grades. For college, my desire is to study Physical Therapy and Athletic Training.
I have been told by many trainers and coaches that I have a high basketball IQ because I understand the game very well and show awareness that I am part of a team on the court. As far as my personality, I can be very calm, but at the same time I take things very seriously. When I am not playing the sport, I am at the gym working on my strength and conditioning. I love being an athlete of competitive nature and that is why I continuously work on myself. Overall, I am a hard worker and bring energy to the court.
