My name is Avery Marshall, a 5’11, 170lb Combo Guard from Powder Springs, GA. For the past four years I have been fortunate enough to start on the Men’s Varsity Basketball team at Harrison High School. Becoming a starter during my freshman year was an amazing accomplishment for me. That experience not only gave me confidence but provided me the chance to play against older and stronger players. Therefore, my junior year I made 2nd team all region 3 - AAAAAAA along with being awarded the "Hustle Stat Award" which recognizes the player on the team with the highest percentage of rebounds, steals, points and assists. Most recently, on January 28th I reached my 1000 career points. And with great pride, I am happy to say I was selected for 1st team all region 3 - AAAAAAA.
As a student- athlete, my grades have always come first. My family continues to instill in me the importance of learning and maintaining a high GPA. I currently have a GPA of 3.43 which include college preparatory courses. I have acquired a strong work ethic from my parents who consistently demonstrate how preparation can lead to meeting my expectations. I believe that playing basketball at a competitive level will require both physical toughness and mental intellect.
I have been blessed to play for some outstanding coaches. It has been an outstanding journey and have given me life lesson skills that I can take with me in my collegiate career and in life.
Lastly, my goals are to maintain my grades , obtain a college degree and an opportunity to bring value to a college basketball program.
My preparation will meet my expectation!
