I have been playing basketball since I was 5 years old. Since I stepped on the court I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. I understand the magnitude of the opportunity to play in college and I am aware of the fact that it can change life as I know it for me and my family. My Dad was my first coach. He helped me develop my basketball skills, mental toughness, and IQ.
I started playing basketball in the church league and I went on to play in the recreational select basketball league. Currently, I play on a very competitive AAU Team. I had to juggle basketball and football over the past few years. As a dual sport athlete, I have been very hard on myself as it relates to working out and conditioning. I understand the importance of using my strength as well as maintaining proper rest and recovery. In both football and basketball my Dad taught me how to play all positions on the team in order to be more valuable to the teams I play on. I work hard year-round to improve my game.
I recently transitioned to High School playing Varsity as the only Freshman, and I ended my first semester with a 3.5 GPA. I volunteered to work with younger kids in my community that showed an interest in the sport.
I want to attend a University that will challenge me in the classroom as well as on the court. I am open to all options and ultimately would like to find the best fit for me that would allow me to play with student athletes that are just as driven and competitive as I am. I hope to become a great role model to all of my peers in my community and make my parents proud.
