Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself. My name is Jonah Hibbert; my teammates and friends call me Jo. I am seventeen years old and a class of 2023 recruit. My parents are first-generation Americans from Trinidad (Mom) and Jamaica (Dad). I grew up in a home where family and family values were essential. My parents taught my two older brothers about honesty and me working hard, being accountable, and leadership. I started playing organized basketball when I was seven years old. I was always an above-average shooter, but as my IQ git higher, I grew into a combo guard. I aim to play basketball in college while obtaining a first-class education. I have not decided on a career, but I'd like to use my education to help people.
I have a complete love for the game of basketball. I possess great team and leadership qualities and am a selfless player with a very high basketball IQ. Some of my fond memories of playing youth basketball were the year my dad challenged me, and I made over 150 three-pointers in one AAU season. My fond memories so far in high school are winning MVP for my Junior Varsity Team as a freshman and playing significant minutes as a sophomore as our varsity team made it to the state final four. That year I became known as an effective perimeter defender, playing excellent perimeter defense and knocking down timely three-pointers as needed. I was awarded the coaches award that year. I am a senior now, loving the leadership role on my varsity team, and I hope to have a great year. As team captain, my stats are 13.4 ppg, 3.2 rbp, 4.3apg, and 2.2spg.
I focus on getting stronger and more knowledgeable, building my skill set, and increasing my GPA. I have an excellent basketball community that is helping me along the way. I would be an asset to any college program and look forward to taking my basketball journey to an institution looking for mutual benefit.
