Personal Statement

Dear Coaches,

I am writing to express my collegiate goals and aspirations, as well as why I believe I would be a valuable addition to your team. I am currently a 10th-grade varsity basketball player, and my passion for both academics and athletics drives me to excel in all aspects of my life.

As a student-athlete, I take immense pride in my accomplishments on and off the court. I have consistently maintained a strong academic record, demonstrating my commitment to balancing my responsibilities as a student and an athlete, a skill that I believe is crucial for success at the collegiate level.

In addition to my prowess on the basketball court, I am also an award-winning pianist, a five-time GA state swim qualifier, and was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by Boy Scouts of America. These experiences have instilled in me a deep appreciation for discipline, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence, which have given me an opportunity to demonstrate my work ethic and leadership skills.

My plans beyond the court during my collegiate years include a dedication to pursue and finish an exercise science degree. After some time in college, my ideal career would be to take basketball to the pros, whether in the NBA or playing overseas. If something were to happen before then, my backup career would be to help others as a physical therapist.

In summary, I am a well-rounded student-athlete who excels academically and is passionate about basketball. My commitment to hard work, leadership, and continuous improvement for myself and my teammates is what makes me a strong candidate for your team. The relationships between me and my teammates are just as meaningful to me as my work ethic, and I always want to help and encourage them any chance I get. I am confident that I can contribute both on and off the court, and am excited about the opportunity to bring my dedication and drive to a team that fits. Thank you for your time and consideration.
