Hi my name is Nick Huston! I am a member of the Rigby High Trojan Basketball team in Rigby Idaho. Here are some of my recent accomplishments:
My goal is to attend a University or College where I can further my academic and basketball aspirations. Right now I am leaning towards a degree in the Business Management. I also have a great passion for basketball, and want to continue with this, possibly even using this skill in my future career.
As far as my character goes, I feel what makes me unique is the fact that I have never taken any drugs, alcohol, and I don't use foul language on or off the court. I am able to keep my emotions under control during games and other stressful situations. I have always tried to be a good example to my siblings and peers as well. I recently earned my Eagle Scout Award and although that was a difficult goal to accomplish and finish during the start of basketball season, I knew it was important that I follow through, so I did.
In the fall of 2015, I will be embarking on a 2 year LDS mission. Although this is a sacrifice, it is one I am willing to make because I know it is the right thing for me to do and will help me grow into a better man. I will be serving people I don't even know, but in doing so will hopefully gain a better understanding of what life is all about and what is really important.
I think what makes me unique among other recruits as far as athletics is that I have played every position so I am very versatile. I can rebound, pass and shoot well. I am also a team player. I am not in the game to be the star of the team, but I am there to help my team win games. I work extremely hard on and off the court and have never missed a practice in the 5 years I have been playing for the Rigby program. I love this game and even during the off season I get up at 6 a.m. twice a week to go play at my church, just so I can keep in shape. I will do whatever it takes to become the best athlete I can be and am very appreciative to all my coaches. They have given me the tools to become a better basketball player.
As far as academics go, I strive to be the best I can be. I am a 4.0 student, and I take my schooling seriously. I want to attend a college or university where academics is a priority as well as great basketball!!
