Connor Umphress '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Connor Umphress, and I go to Columbus East High School. I play basketball for East. I push myself to be a better student, a better athlete, and most importantly, a better person in general. I work very hard at the things I do, because I've been taught by my family to do things right and the best I can the first time. I've been playing since I was 5 years old. I enjoy spending time with friends and family as well, during the times I'm not on the floor. I go to church at St. Paul Lutheran Church. One of the most important awards I have been given is the Darby Murphy award, my sixth grade year. It is given to the hardest working student-athlete, in the classroom, and on the floor of that school. I've been awarded the Best Offensive Player or MVP from my sixth to eighth grade years. One of my many goals in life is to play sports in college. I got selected to the Top 100 camp as a Sophomore. I'm open to different types of schools! I attended the 5 Star National Camp in Louisville, Kentucky and was awarded the Most Promising Prospect. I want to major in Business as of right now. I would love to play as a Freshman in college, while playing at the highest competition level as possible. Making a positive impact on a team is one of the most important things to me. Not statistics, but making a positive impact for the team.
