Personal Statement

I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and have loved playing basketball since I was young. My goals in life are to graduate high school with a high GPA, and go to college to play ball. I am interested in technology and design, and I want to be able to support my family. I appreciate my parents’ role in teaching me life skills and supporting me to do what I love.

What makes me a unique player is my high basketball IQ and ability to adjust my game tempo based on the flow of a game. I consider my strengths to be scoring and on-ball defense. I feel like I'm the type of player that can create a bucket when the offense gets slowed down. I also have learned a lot about the game of basketball on and off the court from my grandfather, Aldray Gibson Jr., who was an All-American at IUPUI. These are the qualities that set me apart from other players.
