I’ve played basketball for as long as I can remember. I’ve played multiple sports, but in the past year I decided that I wanted to play basketball at the collegiate level, so I dropped the other sports to focus on basketball. My passion for basketball is limitless. I can’t think of a better way to spend my time than playing basketball and improving my skill set.
My team goals are to the best player I can be to help my team succeed, be a team leader, win the conference, and to compete toward a state championship. My individual goals are to continue to develop as an infectious leader, shoot 85% or above from the free throw line, shoot 45% or above from beyond the three point line, and average 8 to 10 rebounds per game. I believe by holding myself to these standards, I can raise my level of play and help my team win games. By continuing to work hard and train, I will accomplish my goal of raising my level of play and help my team compete.
Academically I am focused on improving my GPA to a 3.0 or higher. My current GPA does not reflect my academic abilities and I am dedicated to improving it.
I am looking to attend a school that has courses in journalism/telecommunications and/or business management. I want to play for a team that is active in the community. I have participated on many teams that have events to give back to the community. I have volunteered at my school as an instructor for basketball camps to work with younger children. I’ve worked with groups that sponsored events to feed the homeless. I’ve been an instructor at my family sponsored free baseball camps. Also, each year my high school basketball team adopts several less fortunate families at Christmas to help provide gifts and household essentials. I enjoy the opportunity to give back to the less fortunate. I feel that it helps me realize how blessed I truly am. I think that giving back to the community can also help bring a team closer together. Having a brotherhood with my teammates is very important. I feel that building trust on and off the court will aid in team success.
I want to be part of a competitive collegiate basketball program with a coaching staff able to help me tap into my abilities to help me further develop. I’m looking for a program that can help me fall in love with the process of becoming better. I want to work with a coaching staff that can help me reach my peak as an athlete. I would love to join a program that is devoted to their players on an off the court, and active in the surrounding community.
