My name is Reid Smith, and I am 6’7” Center at Greenwood Christian Academy. My aspirations are to play at the collegiate level for a DII, DIII, NAIA, or JUCO program. I am a hard-working athlete both on the court and in the gym, always looking for ways to improve my basketball skills and overall strength. I know what it takes to earn a spot on a team and understand that I will need to work even harder transitioning to the college level.
A testament to my hard work off the court was achieving my Eagle Scout rank at the age of 16, showing my commitment to personal growth and community service. This same drive guided me to make a difficult change due to academic challenges at my previous high school, which is why I transferred to GCA. This transition gave me a fresh start and I made honor roll for the first time in high school improving my GPA to a 3.2.
What sets me apart from other recruits is my drive to better myself both on and off the court. I know that there is always room for improvement, and I continue to push myself to make an impact for my team. I want to pursue a career in Business with a focus on Sports and Entertainment Management.
