Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Adrian, I'm 17 and come from a very close Spanish family. I am the oldest child of 4 siblings. Ever since I was little, my dream was to live in the US and do what I love most: play basketball. I'm proud of being able to say I passed my passion for the game to my little brothers, who admire me. I aspire to play in any competitive college and eventually make a career in basketball. I pride myself on being extremely competitive and giving my most in every game. I'm very adaptable and outgoing making it easy for me to make friends and to adapt to most situations, even if they are uncomfortable and painful. A statement to this is the several countries I have lived in throughout my life. Furthermore, I have played high-level basketball in Spain and France, where I developed my unselfish pass-first game style in the physical leagues in both countries. At my stature, I often have the upper hand defending players similar to my height thanks to my 6 foot 7 wingspan and speed, on the offensive side I improve the floor spacing due to my ability to play as a center, power forward, and small forward due to my shift of height during my younger years, and my ability to hit open 3s when needed. Academically, I have exponentially improved, studying in an international primary school in Denmark, in Spanish and English middle schools in Spain, and an international British high school in France. My strongest subjects are: without a doubt languages, where I often get A's and A stars, and business, where I also achieve A's. Last year I worked hard in in physics and chemistry and achieved high B´s.
It is for this reason, that I believe I am a good candidate for most teams, as I will adapt to what playstyle coaches require from me; will always have my teammate's back, will work at 100 per cent always, am a high achiever academically and am used to most scenarios, whether be it living with my family or without them, in a cold country or a hot one, knowing the language or learning it. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I cannot wait to achieve my dream alongside anyone who gives me the opportunity.
Kind regards,
Adrian Bartolomé Ximénez de Olaso
