Personal Statement
Hey Coaches!
I hope you're all doing great. I am very excited to share my passion for basketball and my aspirations with you. I started playing the game when I was 13 years old, and it became my favorite sport until now. Playing basketball represents so much to me; a part of it is my family history since mom used to play too and be in love with the game. I had the parental support, and it makes me want to work more and strive harder.
Academically, I am part of GEMS Wellington School in Qatar, where my performance is very good. I'm interested in Engineering, though I have not yet chosen a major in it. I have some really great teachers who keep pushing me to work really hard and make manners out of curiosity and drive in me.
I currently play for Fame Sports Academy and have singed with Al Ahli Club, and that has gone well. That is where I have been able to develop my skills significantly. I work out consistently and look for ways in which I can improve in technique, health and fitness, or strategic playmaking and understanding of the game to become the best player I can be.
I am a team player; I believe in communication, cooperation, and consideration. I believe in lifting my teammates up, so we can work together to achieve the goals set upon us. Quite easily, resilience and thriving under great pressure are some of the most strong characteristics. I'm always ready to face challenges head-on. No matter how tough it gets, I never give up but always keep pushing myself and others around me to be the best.
I'm dedicated to growth both as an athlete and a student. My hard work habits, passion, and the tradition that my family has built within basketball set me apart as truly unique and valuable when recruiting. I believe I can bring to your program the very important combination of skill, determination, and academic excellence.
Thank you for considering me to be part of your program. I would like to express how much I'm looking forward to contributing to your program and continuing to grow on and off the court.
Sincerely,
Tiago Arvista
