Personal Statement
Tyrone is an Explosive Well-rounded Point Guard with coaches commenting that he is extremely reliable with an outstanding work ethic.
Was appointed Head Boy/ Student of his High School in his Final Year (which attests to his strong leadership skills)
Achieved strong academic results throughout High School:
Passed Level 1 NCEA Endorsed at Excellence Level
Passed Level 2 NCEA Endorsed at Merit Level
Passed Level 3 NCEA Endorsed at Merit Level
In 2019 he commenced talks with NZ coaches about travelling to the States to attend College, but plans had to be put on hold due to the global COVID-19 pandemic; which obviously then continued into 2020 / 21 with the impact on international travel and border closures.
Whilst remaining in New Zealand, Tyrone continued to work on his basketball skills and was signed as a Rookie to the New Zealand National Basketball League (NBL) with the EnviroNZ Franklin Bulls.
Tyrone ensured that he signed a Zero Dollar Amateur NZ NBL Contract - has he wanted to fully ensure that he maintained his Amateur Status, and therefore not to impact on his dream of playing College Basketball in the USA.
