Personal Statement
I am a highly committed basketball athlete primarily playing the role of Center but also have the skills and ability to play 4 if required. I pride myself on my ability to dominate the paint in a defensive leadership role with a high basketball IQ. I am able to both read the play and interpret and predict the opposition's patterns of play and adjust on court defence to respond, I am seen as a strong and vocal leader of the team both on and off the court.
Whilst offence is a critical part of my game, and I continue to increase my average points per game, I focus strongly on ensuring that the teams I play for are known and respected for the strength of the defence in the paint. I also consider myself as a big that can see the floor well and have a strong passing ability especially from the high and low posts to cutters.
My passion for the game has me training almost every day and I am proud be able to be able to have been part of the winning U18 State Championship, Brisbane Capitals team in 2024, to have been selected for the State Performance Program 2023 and 2024, progressing to represent the state of Queensland at the Australian National Championships for both years, as well as being invited to participate in the, invitation only, National Performance Program, a high performance extension training program specifically for basketballers that have been identified as having the potential to play for Australia.
I do consider myself to be a student athlete and place as much focus on my academic results and progress as I do my basketball. I am generally an A grade student and I am considered to have high personal standards and as a positive class contributor overall, as can been seen by my school report transcripts.
