Personal Statement
Dear Coach,
My name is Isaiah Isichei and I would like to thank you for this opportunity to introduce myself as a potential student athlete.
I have been playing basketball since 2010 and as an international high school junior, it is time for me to consider my options for playing college basketball. I am interested in attending a University in the United States and hope to fill an opening on your team for the 2025 graduating class for students that play the primary position of point guard or shooting guard.
I have extreme empathy for playing the sport of basketball, I love how there is always something to learn and to master. My work ethic is something you could describe as relentless and determined. I practice at any given time to become more skilled. My skills are that I'm a relentless and ruthless defender. I love playing defense. When I first started playing basketball, My Father taught me defense first. I realized that defense is the most key element to winning a basketball game. I am also efficient at creating for others, scoring at all three levels and leading, teammates to me are the people you share winning and losing with, like a family.
Additionally, as you review my transcript, I hope it reflects that I take my academic studies seriously. By the time of my graduation my GPA is on track to be between 3.6-3.8. Currently the major I am interested in is Business Management with a focus in Sports and Entertainment and would aim to pursue a healthy balance between my athletic career and my academic success while attending a University.
Lastly, as an athlete I acknowledge that there is no limit on how much you can learn in basketball and I look forward to taking my passion to the next level. I am determined to be a part of your program and hope to have your consideration.
Sincerely,
Isaiah Isichei
