Personal Statement
I am an Afrikaans Basketball player, there have only been 26 college basketball players born in South Africa, I am determined to be the 27th. My education is also important to me, this is because I believe that if you are going to do something, you do it properly and being a Student-Athlete, this means I am a student just as much as I am an athlete. In addition, I am a member of Mensa which indicated that I have an IQ of 157, this put me in the top 1% of intelligence in the UK. I believe this has given me the ability think outside the box and to solve problems using unorthodox solutions, this is evident in both my play on the court and also in my daily life and schoolwork. Within my team, I am known for always asking question to my coaches in order to better understand the strategies we use in game and the reasons we use them.
