Personal Statement
Having a passion for my academics as well as basketball, college has always been my target as it would allow me to pursue both. Entering my fifth year of play I am eager to participate at the next level.
I have strong finishing skills around the basket and the ability to play through physical contact. I have a strong mid range jump shot which I can credit to my strength and agility. I take pride in my high basketball IQ which I use lead my team mates both during practices and games. I am very coachable and push myself to work as hard as I can every practice, I aim to use my position as a leader to push my team mates to work as hard as they can too.
I seize every opportunity to improve my skills, most recently travelling to the USA from Europe to participate in the HoopGroup Camp and HoopGroup JamFest with my AAU team. I also train in the weight room to maximise my performance on the court. Before I started playing basketball my athletic history includes playing sports like tennis and soccer, which gave me a strong base.
I take my academics seriously and I know that being able to play basketball is privilege. I maintain good grades in the international baccalaureate (IB) system. I received a bronze and silver award participating in the UKMT intermediate and advanced maths challenges respectively. I also volunteered to be an assistant coach for an under 10s team.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself to be the best athlete and student, and where I can compete at the highest level possible.
