Personal Statement
My name is Luca Anderson. I am a 16-year-old student-athlete from Brisbane, Australia. I have a passion for basketball and a drive to succeed both on and off the court.
As a member of the U18 Brisbane Capitals Team that clinched the state championships in 2024 and a participant in the Queensland State Performance Program, I have honed my skills and gained valuable experience competing at a high level. My dedication to the sport has been further demonstrated by receiving a Basketball Scholarship from St Josephs Gregory Terrace in January 2023, where I proudly represented the 1stV Basketball Team as a grade nine student.
Standing at 6'3" tall, I currently hold a spot on the starting V for both Terrace and the Brisbane Rep Team, showcasing my commitment to excellence and my ability to perform under pressure. Athletically, I bring a blend of skill, determination, and leadership to the court, always striving to push myself and my teammates to new heights of achievement.
Academically, I understand the importance of balancing my athletic pursuits with my studies. As a requirement of my scholarship, I maintain a strong focus on my grades, consistently averaging a B- across all subjects. I take pride in my academic achievements and see them as a crucial component of my overall development as a student-athlete.
