Personal Statement
Basketball is my life!
Since I was born, I could remember watching NCAA on tv and never letting go of it. Since then, it has not changed. I pride myself everyday with basketball and grow it as much as I can. There isn't a single thing in this world that makes me happier than privileging myself to a basketball session.
When I was 14, I went on my first solo trip (luckily crowd funded) to the United States for a basketball camps. I was full of hope (due to the amount training and times put in), embarcing for opportunities to come my way, thinking there would be so many coaches that would want me. That same month, I came back home, knowing I wasn't the best player I could be and that there was always room to improve. Since then, after coming back home, I decided to move to the United States on my own- in total, living in 5 cities across California, Tennessee and Georgia. These situation are too worth it. It changed me from being a regular kid to a mature and experienced man! I can't wait for what's to come!
As a part-time coach, I have a string understanding of the game and what all coaches would expect. I absolutely understand that when a coach communicates or calls out anyone, he/she cares!
As a matter of fact, I've never seen anyone else in my situation- a student-athelte (juggling school work+basketball), working as a Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, private basketball/swimming/track coach, volunteer club coach, whilst most importantly caring for my single mother.
I am also a player-coach, meaning I will try to understand every plan of the coach, no matter if it meant asking a question or studying it all night.
I would die on this hardwood!
