Personal Statement
I am a student-athlete currently attending St Thomas of Canterbury College. I come from a very strong rugby background and only changed to basketball 5 years ago, so I am continually growing and learning. I have strong leadership skills and am focussing on developing into a defensive general on the floor. Whilst my 3 point shooting is my strength I am developing many other facets to my game.
I believe my values, work ethic and honesty have created positive standards, that I live by on and off the court. Maintaining high standards and staying true to my values and beliefs in sport and life. I believe the uncoachable qualities like honest effort, communication, desire, passion, commitment come easily to me; The fact that I am also very coachable means that I compliment these qualities with strong skill acquisition. I have a first in last to leave training mentality, no one outworks me. I give 100% whether on the court or on the bench and believe that I live my life in gods image. I am far from the finished product which any programme should be excited about. I am also apart of the student council at my school, and have attended year 9 camp as a leader/mentor to the younger students.
I am focused on completing a business management degree, potentially a Masters. Business is a subject I have a great passion for and strive to excel at, as I truly enjoy its entire process. After finishing my college career I would like to pursue further. I am reliable and I strive to meet my potential as a student-athlete. I currently maintain high marks working towards Merit endorsed with excellence credits in the NZ education system moving into year 13(senior year in the US) this would equate to a 3.0-3.3 in the US system .
