Personal Statement
My name is Alejandro Suvillaga and a dream of mine is to play at a collegiate level when I graduate high school. It has been a dream of mine since seventh grade when my personal coach and my mentor which is my father told me that I have the talent and skills to play at that level. Also I have this dream because the excitement and joy this game gives to me is unmatched and to have the opportunity to have that same excitement and joy in another country just blows my mind. My athletic collegiate goal is to be the best version of myself on and off the court and be the best teammate possible for my team. Another goal of mine is to have new experiences, learn from new people, and the most important is for me to always get better as a basketball player and as a person. I find my self as a different but great candidate for any team due to how I will give my 110% in every game, practice, or drill. Also I think I bring a lot of versatility by being a 6'2 point guard with a 6'5 wingspan at just 17 years old which can shoot the three, midrange, and finish consistently at the rim. Another great aspect of my game is my passing and rebounding. My passing is my best attribute due to how I love getting my teammates involved and how I have an excellent vision of the game. The one thing that makes me different from all of the recruits is my mentality. As my father says , your mentality is the most important thing and what determines you as an athlete and as a student. I will approach every challenge in my way with the same killer mentality meaning that I will due whatever it takes and work the hardest as possible to achieve my goals.
