Personal Statement
Before my freshman year in the US, my parents decided to accept job assignments in the United Kingdom relocating us from Jessup, Maryland to Harrogate, England where all my high school years will conclude at a British school. Initially I did not want to move, because I was happy in my hometown. But I had to trust my parents’ decision. I learned to adapt to this new society and embrace this opportunity to study abroad, while seeing education come to life with the exploration of Europe. The experience continues to bless me due to the endless prospects to compete at the regional, national and international levels.
My absolute love for basketball remains one of the most important things in my life. My first year in the UK, our team successfully made it to the All England Playoffs as the #4 Seed in North Premier division during our coach’s inaugural season which finished with a loss to the #1 Seed in the South Premier division. Through all this I learned the importance of teamwork while succeeding in the classroom.
I believe that I possess resilience, selflessness, a competitive nature, and a strong desire to improve as necessary traits to benefit a team at the next level.
