Personal Statement
My name is Kevin Osorio, and I live in Managua Nicaragua, where I graduated at the top of my class this past November. I have been part of my school’s varsity basketball team since ninth grade and been the starting Point Guard ever since, I have been playing basketball since I was nine. We achieved second place at a tournament in 2018 against other really good highschools here in Nicaragua, and first place in Copa Claro last year.
Basketball has always been a part of my life, and I’m always looking for ways to improve my skills. In 2018 I traveled to Miami where I played in a league against amazing players; our team won the championship that same year. In 2020 I was not able to play because all games were canceled because of the pandemic, but I kept practicing four hours every day with my trainer. Now that I have graduated I am practicing around five hours; last year I added weights to my workouts, and from June to December of last year I was able to go from 133 pounds to 157 pounds. Right now, whenever I am not practicing basketball I am studying English, which I study for 2 hours every day or math, which I study for 1 hour everyday.
