Personal Statement
My name is Ožbej Stanko and I am a 17 year old point guard from Ljubljana, Slovenia. I have loved playing sports my whole life, specifically basketball which I started playing at the age of 6. Since then there has barely ever been a day in which I hadn't picked up a basketball and worked on my skills. In the last few years my training has gotten more proffesional and I now have a routine and schedule I follow everyday which includes my strength, conditioning and skills training.
On the court I try to always have fun and no matter what give my 100 percent whilst keeping everyone on the court involved. Off the court I always try to set the example for my teammates and friends and be there for them when they need me. I also make sure to keep my academics in order, which sometimes means making sacrifices. The types of sacrifices I'm willing to make to reach my ambitions, which are playing basketball at a high collegiate level. I also try to live my life with the mentality to improve every day and fullfill my potential as an individual.
I know the life of a student athlete is not easy and there are sacrifices that have to be made in order to be a great student and player and I am committed to achieving my dreams of playing at a higher level.
