Personal Statement
My name is Nathan Gbolasere. I am a 15 y/o basketball player from the UK. I currently attend Harris Garrard Academy in South East London. I play the shooting guard as my main position, but I can switch to the point. What makes me stand out as an undersized guard from what I have heard is my fearlessness. On the court, I don’t really have any friends (aside from my teammates).
My biggest aim is to become an all time great basketball player. I will do everything within my power to make that aim a reality. My mindset is always to do better than the day before. To make sure in everything I do, that nothing is left on the table. I have a drive different to most other athletes and will do anything to be the best. As a UK basketball player however, there aren’t many opportunities for success. So right now, I am individually focusing on my craft and waiting patiently for a chance to prove what I am capable of.
I am often compared to Kobe Bryant due to my insatiable work ethic, and my tenacity on the court. Similar to Kobe Bryant, I am not the nicest person on the court when i am playing. My mentality on the court is too simply kill anything with the audacity to try to guard me. I feel like by approaching the competition like this, I gain a lot of mental advantages.
