Iker Matus '19 Recruiting Profile

The first time I played basketball was at the age of 7 years old, and stopped playing to join my school's soccer team. After 5 years of playing soccer, at the age of 15, I came back to play basketball. Even though I didn't play basketball for 5 years, all the conditioning, sprints, footwork and loyalty I developed at soccer helped me to improve as a basketball played. In three years, I went from being a role player to being a starter, being the captain and playing entire games.

My desire to play at college began at the fall of my High School Junior year. Due to my necessity to find a college and my love for the game, I am committed into finding the best academic and sports opportunities and becoming the best version of myself on and off the court.
