Arthur JOAQUIM '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Arthur Joaquim, I am a 6'4 Shootin guard from France.

I started playing basketball in 10th grade and as soon as I began, I started working as hard as I could to be the best player I could be.

During my first year, I was very dominant, so I got recruited to play in a better division.

At the beginning of my second  season, I wasn't playing a lot because the level was way higher, but I kept working all season long and gained minutes every game, and finally, at the end of our last game I hit the game winning  shot during our championship game .

During my second season at this club, I had a major role and was averaging almost 15ppg, with 10 rebounds and 5 assists, so, atthe end of that season, I got recruited to play in the U18 national championship, which is the best level of basketball in France for people under 18.

I was constantly improving, changed my shooting mechanic during that year to get a quicker release, so I made major improvements on my shot, but in January 2019, I tore my meniscus. I played on it unitl march, when I decided to get surgery  and sit for the rest of the season to recover.

My performances impressed coach Ostendorf, and I got recruited by Mesabi Range College, a JUCO in northern Minnesota, after graduating from High School in June 2019. At Mesabi Rane, I improved a lot physically and on my ability to knock down hard shots.

Unfortunately, after only one semester, Igot  injured, for only two months, but because the season ends in february, I was out for the rest of the season. I decided to come back to France to recover and come back for the 2020-2021 season, but due to the COVID-19, season was cancelled.

I am know looking for a school to continue my academic and athletic career.

Iam the hardest worker and have a lot of potential . I can do whatever the coach wants me to do, all the dirty job. On the court, I am a dog, alwaysgiving everything on defense, because in Europe, we play really hard on defense, and I love it, get some steals, blocking shots, annoying my opponent. I amalso a very unselfish player that can set up the defense to get my teammates open shots.

I am mostly a shooting guard,but I can play all positions if the coach needs me to do so.
