Personal Statement
My name is Murphy Rodgers and I am a 6’3 point guard from New Zealand in the class of 2024. I am excited to be able to introduce myself to you and really appreciate you taking the time to read this.
I am the starting point guard for Wellington College as well as for my representative teams. I am also a development player for the Wellington Saints who play in the professional league here in New Zealand (NZNBL)
This past season I averaged 25.7 PPG, 6.2 APG and 5.3 RPG in the regular season and captained my school to our first ever state and national championship. At nationals I was also named in the tournament team (top 8 players) and invited to the Steven Adams Invitational for the top 20 players in the country. I also work hard in the classroom and have a 3.2 GPA as well as being a prefect of the school (student leader/role model)
My peers and coaches have described me as having a great work ethic, being very coachable and a positive leader.
