Tim Hasbargen '14 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing basketball since I was 11 years old. At that time I was also playing tennis and soccer, but my love for basketball soon demanded all my time. Since high school level it has been my dream to play college basketball and combining it with a bachelors degree.

What distinguishes me from others is my will to put in work, my leadership qualities, and willingness to take coaching. Those qualities always convinced my coaches to select me as a captain and a starter. I always try to lead by example on and off the court. My specific basketball strengths are my high basketball IQ (decision making / right positioning...), my scoring ability (shooting & driving) and my hustling (defense / rebounds / loose balls).

My competitiveness also applies off the court. I study hard and do all the things necessary to be an excellent student, which made me one of the top students in my class. I also showed my leadership qualities by being a school mentor and at the Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC), to which I was invited. Besides that, I am currently tutoring some of my teammates who are struggling in the classroom.

I have gained experience by playing my sophmore year at IMG Academies in the United States. I was also invited to attend Bayern Munichs professional Mens Teams pre-season preperation, which is one of the top clubs in Europe. Currently I am playing in the highest Junior (under 19) league and in the 4th highest Mens league.

I want to attend a college which allows me to compete at the highest level possible athletically and academically.
