Personal Statement
My name is Michael Gillett I have been playing basketball since I was 15 years old. Since I first stepped on the court, I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. I am a strong Three point shooter, a very hard defender and I have a high basketball IQ and my game is getting better everyday. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates to never give up and do better. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players for any team I am a part of.
Off the court, I study my hardest to try maintain a high GPA. Like my coach tells me being a student comes before being an Athlete. I study hard so I can excel on and off the court no matter what.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the basketball court. I am open to all options but one of my dreams is to become a Division 1 basketball player. I want to ultimately find the right college that matches with the highest level of competition possible. I would hope that whatever program would be interested in me would be willing to give me a full scholarship just so I don’t have to bring any stress on my mother and family. I want to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud!My dream has always been to play professional basketball. It has been a dream of mine since I was 15 and I can see it in myself through the hard work and the dedication I put in everyday I hope you will be able to see it to.
