Personal Statement
Originally born in Brighton, England, part of a family of 5 (Mum, Dad, older brother and younger brother) that moved to New Zealand when I was 7 for a better childhood with move opportunities and freedom. I grew up in a small village called Oakura and started playing basketball when I was 11 due to my height. Growing up in such a small place that is heavily into rugby meant that there was barely enough players to make up representative teams in my area, however with my perseverance and work ethic I managed to get selected into National level camps and then chosen to be in the U18 New Zealand National team that travelled to the Oceania Champs in Guam where we placed second. The highlight of my playing career so far is travelling to China for the Nike Asia Pacific NBA Team Camp in 2018. I hope to gain an athletic scholarship through basketball so that I can study while still playing basketball at a very high level - College basketball in New Zealand is almost non existent. I want to study either Graphic Design or Marketing, with the ultimate goal of starting my own clothing brand in the future as fashion is one of my greatest passions outside of basketball.
CCR Evaluation (Previous Recruiting Agency):
Big, smooth wing/guard with length (6’9 Wingspan) and very versatile overall game. Smooth pull-up jumper from both mid-range & outside of the arc. High release combined with size make it tough for defenders to contest effectively. Very good feel overall offensively. Moves & handles it well enough to be a primary ball handler. Plays with a purpose, very good feel for the game and makes shots from mid-range or outside very consistently on the catch & the dribble. Has the footwork & change of direction similar to a smaller guard. Holds his line w/ the ball and doesn’t get sped up. Very good feel for finding open teammates & very unselfish if they’re in better position to score. Above the rim athlete with a solid motor at both ends. Gets after it on the glass including balls out of area. Upside here is very high as he just keeps improving. Can see spending time in backcourt, on the wing and even as a stretch 4 type very fluidly at the next level.
