Personal Statement
If there was one word I could use to describe myself, it would be ambitious. Ambitious to succeed, accomplish my dreams, and be the best version of myself. Basketball has been a part of my life since I was young, and my dream to play collegiate hoops has been alive since then. Living outside the United States my whole life, the recruitment process has definitely been a rollercoaster of emotions, but my ambition has kept me going. Just because I am not a traditional recruit living in the States does not mean you should count me out.
As a basketball player, I play to learn. From watching game film to picking up what my coach puts down, I always aim to improve my game. This can be seen in my development over the years, where I worked hard to become the player I am today. I pride myself on defense, one of my greatest attributes as a basketball player. Averaging more than three steals a game, my eye to intercept passes is strong. Athletically, I have spent a lot of time working on myself, increasing my vertical jump and strength. Thus, my ability to drive in the lane and finish with strength is powerful.
When recruiting me, academics are not a problem. Growing up, my family taught me the importance of education. Therefore, I have worked hard my whole life ensuring I maintained elite academics. Consequently, I have made the higher-honor roll for all semesters of high school thus far, only going to the top 10% of Grade Point Averages. I am currently taking the International Baccalaureate program (IB), a rigorous pre-university course with higher-level classes. Therefore, it is safe to say, my dream to attend an academically prestigious school is strong.
I hope that you will take the time to review my profile and contact me.
