Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Deklyn Simms and I am currently a college freshman , Class of 2025, studying and competing at a small Division III school in Pennsylvania.  I am a 6’2 athletic Shooting Guard who Rebounds the ball like a player of much larger stature and can defend through positions 1 to 4. I pride myself on keeping a strong defensive presence every single play down the court and maintaining this effort when rebounding the ball. 

Being both athletically gifted (with a 39 inch vertical) and hard-nosed, I play both sides of the Ball, am a reliable scorer and pride myself on my ability and willingness to make big plays and do what it takes for the team to win.

I understand that being a student athlete can be a big commitment and have proven in my freshman year that I understand this through keeping up my grades (projected 3.5 GPA by the end of the year), always attending class and chapel sessions as well as putting extra study hall hours to make I can succeed on and off the court.
