Personal Statement
Hello Coaches, My name is Ethan McIntosh, I am a graduate of Wesley College in 2023, Western Australia.I am currently studying at Curtin University in Perth. I am a 6'1 Combo Guard, I have been playing basketball since I was 10yrs old.
I am very coachable and assist my coach by helping motivate and bond other players as a team during the season.
I have very strong ball handling, defensive and mental toughness skills and have a high IQ for basketball. I am a team leader and lead by example while also encouraging my teammates.
I have elite agility and follow strict strength & conditioning programs, being the best I can be in any situation, academically and athletically is always top of mind.
I have competed in Western Australian Country Championship teams over the past 5 years and have made Country Squad Selections in both of the past two years for U16 Boys and U18Boys Squads although a bottom age player for U18 Boys.
My inner belief and family values have helped me to attain and achieve many awards for service in helping others within a school/team or competitive environment. I like to lead by example and set the standard in everything I do.
I am a role model student and have just completed photo shoots for Wesley College Perth to be used as advertising and promotional material for the school over the next few years. I have always believed in and strived towards competing at the highest level possible in everything I do.
I understand teamwork, resilience, personal growth, and helping others to be the best they can be, I will always give 110% in any task I am given. I know playing at the college level is an honour and a privilege that is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and realize that this will be life-changing for me and my family.
I want to attend a college that supports high standards where I can push myself to excel in the classroom and in basketball. I am open to all college options and want to ultimately find the right college match for my future playing at the highest level of competition possible.
Having travelled to the USA 3 times before, I love the country and the culture in the USA and aspire to attend a college that will provide me with the best possible experience and support to become the best person I can be in the future. I want to become a great role model not only to all my peers and my community but my country as well.
