Personal Statement
I am a 6'3" Combo Guard from Melbourne, Australia. For the past three years I have had the opportunity to play basketball here in the United States. My first year here I took a prep year at Impact Academy in Las Vegas where I made significant development in my game both physically and mentally. For the past two years I've attended Rochester University where I've gotten the chance to play collegiate basketball and pursue an education. I've made significant strides both academically and athletically, earning a cumulative 3.98 GPA in my two academic years here.
I demonstrated my adaptability and self-motivation by moving to a new country in another continent, joining a different teaching program in the American schooling system and thriving within a multi-cultural environment. I wish to find an institution that provides an opportunity for me to excel both academically and athletically. I want to study the social sciences particularly Psychology, History, Philosophy and Politics, combined with a program to take my basketball to the next level.
These past three years have been eye opening for me, triggering me to assess my goals and aspirations. My dream is to play basketball at the highest level possible and competing in a preeminent American competition would bring me a step closer to my vision. I am ambitious, dedicated, competitive, open minded and quick to learn which I believe are essential qualities that would make me a valuable member of your basketball team.
