Personal Statement
I first fell in love with the game of basketball when I moved into the house I currently live, in grade 3. We had a full outdoor basketball court right in the view of our house. I spent everyday of summer on my court, and would only come home to eat, use the washroom, or refill my water bottle. During the winter season I would take a shovel and shovel the court at least once a week to get some shots up. I think that is what helped me do what I do best and that is put the ball through the net. Growing up playing the PG, I learned to lead both on and off the court. Being a point guard I had to be vocal and be the 2nd coach on the court for the team.
Lester B. Pearson(Calgary) was the first high school I went to, and academically I performed well in classes, I had a 3.6 GPA in grade 10, and a 3.1 GPA in grade 11. In my grade 12 season I transferred to Sir Winston Churchill Secondary(Vancouver) due to some personal matters. I had a 3.1 GPA for my senior year in High school. I plan on pursuing Pharmaceuticals academically, and athletically would like to continue my passion for basketball.
From 4 to 11 years old I took martial arts and stopped after I received my black belt to pursue and focus on my passion for basketball. Through martial arts I learned to keep my body and mind in control, I learned discipline, manners, respect, and to be a leader. I did high jump in grade 10 and can attribute that to my jumping ability, for teaching me the proper mechanics for jumping. I like to help out in my community as much as I can such as playing charity basketball games, helping to keep the environment clean, and help kids to stay in a right path.
