Personal Statement
Through the junior basketball system in Australia, I have been fortunate enough to play at multiple representative clubs and attend one of the best academic schools in the nation, Sydney Boys High School. It has a reputable basketball program that is part of the Premier Sydney GPS basketball competition. Through school and representative teams, I have played in successful state and national tournaments.
During this time, I have had several high-level coaches from various ethnic backgrounds and beliefs; all with different styles of basketball. These factors, alongside the experience of studying with and competing against some of the smartest students in Australia, has helped me to become very disciplined, enhancing my ability to adapt to different teams, schools, coaches, students and players alike.
I believe in a strong work ethic and solid listening skills to achieve positive results.
Not only the opportunity to live out my dream of playing basketball at the collegiate level, but the experience of meeting new people, learning to live in a new environment and to continue striving academically is something that I have a strong passion for, and through my past experience in school and sport, I believe I have what it takes to play basketball and study at a high level collegiate school.
