Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Michael Chigumbu I am an international student from Perth, Australia. My goal is to find a college where I can continue my basketball career playing at a high level and gain a degree in sports sciences as that is my passion. I believe I am a good candidate for your team because I take pride on the court defensively, doing whatever it takes to to get the job done. I'm a fearless attacker but am also poised and play smart with the ball in my hand. I am a natural leader and will always bring the energy if I am on the court or on the bench I love to get my team involved and I am not concerned with individual accolades but more the success of my team. I believe that my ethnic parents coming from a third world country to give me and my sister a better life has instilled a work ethic in me that I carry on and off the court a work ethic that pushes me to get better everyday. I have played club basketball for 4 years as I started playing basketball later then normal, but I have one the MVP award 2 out of those four years.
