Personal Statement
As a player, my strengths are my high game IQ, play making and shooting ability, adaptability, work ethic, passion, and leadership. These skills have been developed throughout my basketball journey which has been both challenging and rewarding. From an early age I suffered from painful heel severs, knee pain, and migraines; therefore, I didn’t begin playing representative basketball until bottom age U14. Starting 2-3 years later than most other players, presented many obstacles and disappointments that I needed to overcome through hard work, determination, and relentless focus and persistence. By far, 2019 was my best year in terms of achievements, winning the 3x3 Hustle National tournament, receiving the end-of-season Coach’s Award, and winning the under 18 Victorian State Championship.
I have loved basketball for as long as I can remember. At the age of two I found my Dad’s Shawn Kemp VHS, “The Reignman”, which I insisted on playing repeatedly until we purchased “The Ultimate Jordan Collection”. Since then, my desire to play basketball has only grown and developed. As an international student, I am looking for a program that will provide me extraordinary experiences and develop me as a student, an athlete, and as an individual. I believe that I would add value to any team and that you will not be disappointed.
I am a generous, community minded person. I coach Aussie Hoops and holiday basketball camps for kids. Over the past few years I have been refereeing youth and mens basketball games. I regularly attend my local youth group and church where I help with pack down.
