Personal Statement
Hello. I'm Michał and I'm going to try to show you why I'm unique and good candidate for your team. First of all I'm going to tell you a little bit about me. I have started playing basketball when I was 11. In Poland the only way to play is to train in a Club. In my hometown there is only one: Rosa Radom. So I've been playing since then. I loved playing ball! But my teammates did not like me. Daily insults and phrases that I wont acomplish anything. I held it. I never gave up, because i really love the game. Since I'm 15 I live 32 km From Radom and I need to commute every day. I wake up early and come back late. My parents and I really sacrifice to enable me to achive my dreams.But just after 9th grade I realized I want to achive something bigger than(as my club coach used to say) 1st Polish league. I realized I want to play in the NBA. I think I'm good enough but playing in the NCAA will help me to get better in basketball but even if some serious injury occours I will be well educated. Thats why i fell in love with America, NCAA, american basketball and mentality. I fit there excellently. I got that mindset. That Mamba Mentality. I know I can do all things. So even after bad emotional experience with my team I just want to show you that I can handle every situation. I want to win NCAA Championschips and get a degree. Thats my dream. Very small amout of poeple in Europe especially in Poland REALLY know what to do and how to get to the american university. I searched for some help and collected information on my own e.g. reading american sites. I just want to show you how big progress i have done throught those 2 years. Being a student athlete at University in America would show that all my and my parents hard work in investing in me does not go on a prose. And maybe i will inspire other polish students to study in america.
I'm A good student too. I went from 2nd worst Primary school in Radom to the best secondary school in Radom and the best high school in Radom and 8th Best high school in Poland. After i realized i need to pass SAT i started learning. My score was not very satysfying but I know I can and I will do better next time. I really like Physics, Astronomy, Psychology and mainly I want to study them but I have got many interests except basketball and i know at american University i can improve them all.
Btw Im not going to International school of wroclaw. My school is VI Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Radomiu. It's top 10 high school in Poland by Ranking Perspektyw
