Manuel 'MJ' Gonzales '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is MJ Gonzales. Basketball is a BIG part of my life. I put in so much time to get where I am today and am continuing to improve every day. Play the game with passion on both sides of the court. 

6'2 Guard/Small Forward Senior year at Lakin High School in Kansas. Team captain and leader who can guard and play all positions. Overall team record 18-5. Hi-Plains League Tournament Champions. Sub-State runner-ups. 

Averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists,1 block a game while shooting 78% from the free-throw line. Season high in stats this season: 16 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals, 5 assists, and 2 blocks. 

Senior year Second team All-Conference, and Honorable Mention Junior year after transferring from Garden City HS. Over the Summer lead the Western KS Magic team to a MAYB Championship in Wichita, KS against some of the best players around the area and surrounding states. Soon will be playing in the Southwest Kansas All-Star game in mid-April and choose a college to attend and play basketball in the fall.

Maintaining 3.0 GPA and finishing the school year strong. Understand how important academics and education is. After graduation going to pursue my college degree. Take pride in being a student-athlete by working hard in the classroom and on the court.
