As one of my favorite basketball players of all time once said "You have to be able to accept failure to get better", and when my team fell short of making the playoffs my junior year I knew what I had to do. What I had to do was get better in every aspect of not only basketball but in the classroom and in life as well. I know a lot about winning and a lot about losing. My freshman year of high school I went to Logansport High a bigger 1A school than most 1A schools around. We as a team won the state championship in football. We went undefeated and it taught me a lot about winning and about how much work it takes to win a championship. but I knew little about losing and so when I moved schools to play basketball at Central School a small private school in grand Cane LA I was expecting to win and when we got all the way to the playoffs we lost in the first round by a buzzer beater shot that was so close the had to go to replay and I didn't know how to handle it, I didn't know where to work harder or to just channel it in and not face the fact that we as a team lost. But as I regret now I wish I hadn't forgot and used it as motivation for the upcoming basketball season as would be a junior and be an official starter as my sophomore I only started a few games. My junior season went by fast as there were lots of ups and downs but when the season came to an end we fell short of the playoffs but instead of forgetting the whole thing I decided to use that as motivation as I move forward to my senior season there is now lots of expectations on us as a team. But with three other seniors and our leadership ability I feel like we have a chance to make a big run in the playoffs and compete of a state title. I have been and still am working hard to help make that dream come true for all of us.
